I struggle with the “little picture”–suffering, sin, isolation, and grief in our world.

How can God stand it? How can so many Christians stand aside and do nothing?

God answers me (just as He once answered Job) by reminding me that He is sovereign. He holds the history we will tell for all of eternity not just the bits and pieces we see now.

Although the bits and pieces do their part.

These pictures of sand and snowflakes show what a consummate artist God is. He makes everything beautiful, either through the direct act of creation or the mysterious and agonizing transaction of redemption.

Which leaves me to worship and ponder the gift of faith, like the pictures of things quite real but too small for us to see without a powerful microscope-

the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen.
